THERE ARE THREE ROLEPLAY RULES.
EACH MUST BE FOLLOWED.
EACH MUST BE REVERED.
EACH MUST BE RESPECTED, OR...I dunno. I will get back to you on that.
Anyway...
#1: BE APPROPRIATE
- I think, or at least hope, this is pretty much self-explanatory.
- If you are not going to see it/something in a movie for kids, don't roleplay it.
#2: BE REALISTIC
- Unless you can read brain waves, don't read people's thoughts [if they roleplay thinking them].
- Don't be a cyborg in the middle of Renaissance Italy, or a Miscrit in modern-day places. That's just...wrong...
- Self-created characters are welcome. But for goodness' sakes, don't play a vampire/angel/android/elephant/whatever hybrid. Either stick to one race/creature (100% human, or robot, or whatever), or be of only two mixed races (half elf, half human; half human, half robot).
- If you decide to roleplay a character of mixed races/creatures, please use common sense. Don't mix two races/creatures which are mortal enemies (A half Angel, half Demon character is just as inane as a half Poltergust, half Fossillia one).
- You can have magic! But, if you are a race/creature which usually does not have it, please have a logical reason in your character's background for why your character does.
- You can not win 100% of the time. That just doesn't happen; sometimes you lose, or something unexpected pops up. Instead of Emily steals the cookie from Anonymous, try Emily attempts to steal the cookie from Anonymous. It makes roleplay last longer, and more interesting.
- Do not speak for other people. Let a member choose how his or her character responds; do not post their character's response, let them do it.
#3: HAVE FUN
- Roleplay exists solely for entertainment! It can be serious, but it should always, always be fun to do.
- Roleplay is not real; any squabbles between characters, are between the characters; not the people. Therefore do not get upset in real life because of an event in roleplay.
Remember,
Roleplay is not real life. What happens in roleplay, stays in roleplay; what happens in real life, stays in real life. They simply don't mix.
Have fun!
